Thursday, April 25th at 5:30 pm in LS 271- We will be having officer elections for next year. If you are interested in running for a leadership position, please submit a paragraph stating what you are interested in running for, why, and what makes you a good fit for the position. Please have this paragraph submitted to the pre-health office by Thursday 4/25 at 1pm or email to Emily Atkins PHPA President at marsemil@isu.edu
On Saturday, April 28th at 10:30am we will be having our Spring Highway Cleanup. Please come support the club, and participate in the ISU Service Day! The weather should be beautiful! The more people that come, the faster it will go. Wear appropriate clothing with gloves.
We will be meeting in the biology building parking lot at 10:30am!

Just a quick reminder about tomorrow’s event:
Dr. Baergen will be presenting about the importance of Medical Ethics. We will be discussing strategies for answering ethical questions and go through some examples.
We are very lucky to have Dr. Baergen present to us, so come learn about medical ethics and get some tips that will help you during interviews!

Tuesday, March 5th at 11am there will be tour of ISU’s Physical Therapy program and facilities. If you’re interested in going, contact Wes Mennear. mennwesl@isu.edu

Wednesday, March 6th from 7:00-8:30pm Rec Center room 287, PHPA is having a Spin-a-thon. Come have fun with other club members and bring a friend. We will have music, food, and we’ll be selling club t-shirts! If you’re interested in attending, contact Rase Wood. woodloga@isu.edu

Just a reminder- Tomorrow, Thursday January 31st, we our having an application overview for pre-meds. Bryce Rhodehouse has some awesome tips and will walk us through the process. 5:00pm in LS 270

Need some volunteer hours? Want to give a helping hand to the community? Does your club or class need a service project? Then come join SAB for Service Saturday! Enjoy a free breakfast (courtesy of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars) before heading out to one of our selected charity organizations. This month, you’ll have the choice between Aid for Friends or Habitat for Humanity.

The PHPA Presidency would like to welcome you all back to yet another wonderful semester! The Presidency and Representatives are meeting this week to plan activities for the semester, so check back soon for a list of upcoming events!
Spring semester is always the craziest semester for pre-health students, especially for those that will be applying to professional schools this summer. We hope to plan some fun events and help all of you rack up some volunteer and service hours. If there are any activities or events that you, as club members, would like to see happen over the semester, please feel free to email anyone in the presidency and we’ll get them scheduled!

Remember that the ‘Meet a Professional Dinner’ is coming up! Thursday, November 15 at 6:30-8:30pm at the Rosewood Reception Center. If you would like to attend, the cost is $5 per person, a killer deal for a delicious dinner. We have amazing professionals that are willing to come and give short presentations about their profession and then you will be able to talk with them one on one afterwards. Please come by the Pre-Health Advising office in LS 202 and talk to Marcia to pay for and reserve your spot. (There are limited number of seats.)

Be sure to come to our Kickoff Meeting, Thursday, September 13th at 5:30pm in the Plant Science building Rm 114! We will have pizza and beverages! We will have a table where you can sign up for the club, pay club dues ($5), and buy club t-shirts ($5). Come meet this year’s club presidency/representatives, fellow pre-health members, and find out what we have planned.
